In furtherance of her commitment to grassroots engagement, inclusive governance, and effective representation, Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, Member of the House of Representatives for Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency, undertook a series of strategic courtesy visits and consultations on Friday, January 16, 2026. Courtesy Visit to Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Laraba Shoda, Sagamu The Honourable Member paid a courtesy visit to Dr. (Mrs.) Gloria Laraba Shoda, mni, MFR, former Chairman of the Governing Council of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic and former National President of the National Council of Women Societies, at her residence in Sagamu.

Hon. Dr. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji expressed appreciation for Dr. Shoda’s longstanding contributions to women development and national service. She briefed her on her legislative activities within her first 100 days in office and outlined upcoming people-focused programmes aimed at delivering tangible benefits to constituents.

Dr. Shoda commended the Honourable Member’s dedication, encouraged sustained focus and people-centred leadership, and advocated greater participation of young women and professionals in grassroots politics. Members of the Remo Progressive Women were present in large numbers.

Addressing them, Hon. Dr. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji urged all women to validate their APC membership registrations and remain actively involved in party processes. Engagement with Rev. Olusola Salau, Convener, PDA 4 Senate Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji also engaged Rev. Olusola Salau, Convener of PDA 4 Senate, a political support structure aligned with the vision of His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, CON.

The engagement focused on strengthening grassroots mobilization, party cohesion, and strategic support ahead of 2027 Election. Rev. Salau reaffirmed the group’s commitment to progressive leadership and sustained advocacy for policies that promote good governance and development.

Engagement with Ijebu Lokan Movement and State Creation Discussions Hon. Dr. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji met with Otunba (Dr) Abdulfalil Abayomi Odunowo, Convener and head of mobilization and strategy for Ijebu Lokan Fun Itesiwaju Ijebu, alongside coordinators from four Ijebu Local Governments, to discuss ongoing state creation efforts. A resolution emerged during the discussions, focusing on maintaining the old Ijebu Province and shifting the focus from disputes over the name and the capital toward constructive planning and collaboration. Key points include:

1. The siting of the state capital will be jointly discussed at a later stage, with fairness and shared interest as guiding principles.

2. Respecting the heritage and identity of both Ijebu and Remo, while exploring a cooperative approach that is mutually beneficial to both parties in the pursuit of state creation.

3. Engaging citizens through inclusive dialogue and community consultations.

4. Ensuring governance structures provide equitable representation for both communities.

This approach underscores mutual respect, participation, and shared decision-making, laying the foundation for a united front in advocating for a new state that honors the heritage and aspirations of both Ijebu and Remo. Meeting with Ikenne Farm Settlement Representatives Representatives of the Ikenne Farm Settlement also visited to present concerns over a longstanding farmland dispute.

Hon. Dr. Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji listened attentively and assured them of her commitment to a fair resolution through legislative engagement and collaboration with relevant authorities to protect livelihoods and promote agricultural stability.
