In continuation of her commitment to the health and well-being of young girls in Ikenne Local Government, the Pathfinder Champion, in strategic collaboration with the Coordinators of Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, has conducted another impactful sensitization program.
This phase of the outreach targeted primary school pupils at Saint James Anglican Primary School, Iperu, and Wesley School, Ilisan, both within Ikenne Local Government Area.
The program focused on educating pupils on the importance of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine as a key preventive measure against cervical cancer. Speaking at the event, the Pathfinder Champion representative, Mrs. Otameh Kehinde, emphasized that HPV remains a major health concern for women, as it is primarily transmitted through sexual contact. She stressed the importance of early vaccination in providing long-term protection and encouraged the pupils to take advantage of the vaccine when available.
As part of efforts to support the girl-child, sanitary pads were distributed to female pupils. The gesture was received with appreciation and excitement.
The event was attended by key members of Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji’s team, including Mrs. Otameh Kehinde, Mrs. Kehinde, and Mr. Ogungbesan Emmanuel.
Their presence reflects the Hon. Doctor’s sustained commitment to grassroots health education and women’s empowerment in Ikenne Local Government.
This initiative further highlights her dedication to improving the health, education, and overall development of children and women across the constituency.
