As part of my continued grassroots consultation and commitment to inclusive leadership, I held strategic engagements with APC women leaders and key party stakeholders in Sagamu Local Government Area on Saturday, March 14, 2026.

My first engagement was a strategic meeting with APC women leaders, mobilizers, and canvassers from Sagamu Local Government Area, which took place at my Federal Constituency Office in Ajaka, Sagamu, at about 11:00 a.m. The opening prayer was offered by Mrs. Sola Adedeji, APC Woman Leader, Ward 10, Sagamu. I began by appreciating Almighty God for the gift of life and for keeping everyone safe. I also sincerely thanked the women leaders and mobilizers for their unwavering commitment to the growth of our great party and for their continued support at the grassroots.

During the engagement, I took time to explain the current situation at the National Assembly in Abuja and briefed them on some of my legislative efforts within the first six months of representing the good people of Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency.

I informed them about some of the bills I have sponsored, including the proposed establishment of a School of Nursing and Allied Sciences in Ode Lemo/Emuren, as well as a Federal College of Agriculture at Orile Oko in Remo North Local Government Area and creation of additional Local Government in Remo Federal constituency. I also highlighted my legislative support for ongoing national conversations around state creation and the establishment of additional Local Government Areas to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure more equitable development.

In addition, I informed them about a motion I raised at the House of Representatives on the rehabilitation of the dilapidated Ibere River bridge at Emuren-Sagamu and urgent need for the construction of pedestrian bridges on the ongoing Sagamu-Benin Expressway. The motion was aimed at improving road safety and protecting lives, especially students, traders, and residents who regularly cross the highways. I also updated them on several constituency development initiatives currently underway or being facilitated.

These include the High Court Road project in Sagamu, the Health Centres at Ibelefun and Ogijo, the Abattoir project, solar streetlight installation in Ikenne Remo, and the planned solar power grid support for the General Hospital in Iperu Remo. I further briefed them on my ongoing efforts through the Ecological Fund intervention to address the erosion and drainage challenges affecting residents of Likosi, Araromi, and the GRA areas of Sagamu.

Beyond infrastructure and legislative work, I also informed the women leaders about my upcoming capacity building and economic empowerment programmes for youth and women across the constituency, particularly in the area of agriculture, which are designed to create sustainable economic opportunities. In the area of education, I announced my educational support initiative for 750 secondary school students in Sagamu, where three designated centres will host Easter coaching classes aimed at supporting students academically within Sagamu Local Government Area.

To further strengthen grassroots mobilization and coordination, I informed them that I will be sponsoring a monthly meeting of women across the Remo Federal Constituency. The meetings of coordinators and mobilizers will now be structured on a regular monthly basis with proper planning and organization to deepen engagement and strengthen our grassroots network.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for open discussion as I carefully listened to their comments, reactions, and suggestions on how to further strengthen the impact of my legislative agenda and constituency representation. Following this engagement, I proceeded to another strategic consultative meeting with the apex leadership and stakeholders of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), Offin District, Sagamu. The meeting took place at the residence of Chief Dr. Olukoya Adeleke Adedoyin (Baba Asoludero), Chairman of APC Ogun East Senatorial District, who convened the meeting and called it to order at about 12:30 p.m.

I attended the meeting alongside my legislative aides and a few of my political appointees from my constituency office. In my remarks, I thanked Almighty God for granting us the opportunity to gather and appreciated the leadership for their continued support. I also sincerely apologized for not holding the APC Offin Sagamu leadership consultative meeting earlier due to pressing legislative duties and commitments in Abuja, as my focus has been on ensuring meaningful outcomes in the discharge of my legislative responsibilities for the benefit of our people. During the engagement, I briefed the leadership on several constituency development initiatives and projects that I have initiated and am currently pursuing to completion.

These include the High Court Road project in Sagamu, the Health Centre at Ibelefun, the Health Centre at Ogijo, and the Abattoir project. I also informed the leaders that solar streetlight installation is currently ongoing in Ikenne Remo, while Iperu Remo will benefit from my solar power intervention through the installation of a solar power grid at the General Hospital, Iperu Remo.

On legislative matters affecting the development of Remoland, I explained that the bill earlier sponsored by my predecessor, the late Rt. Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga, for the establishment of a Federal University in Remo cannot proceed for now due to the existing seven year federal moratorium on the establishment of new federal universities.

However, in order to ensure that Remoland still benefits from critical federal institutions, I have sponsored new bills for the establishment of a School of Nursing and Allied Sciences in Ode Lemo and Emuren, as well as a Federal College of Agriculture at Orile Oko in Remo North Local Government Area, creation of Remo-Ijebu State and creation of additional Local Government Area in Remo Federal constituency.

I also briefed the leadership on my ongoing engagement with the Ecological Fund Office to address the long standing erosion and drainage challenges affecting residents of Likosi, Araromi, and the GRA areas of Sagamu. I assured them that the intervention process is already underway and that the ecological challenges confronting those communities will soon receive the needed attention. During the meeting, I also formally informed the leadership of APC Offin Sagamu of my intention to seek re-election as the Member representing Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives.

My decision is driven by the need to consolidate on the work already started and to ensure the completion of the developmental initiatives already underway for the benefit of our people.

The meeting was attended by notable party leaders and stakeholders including Chief Dr. Olukoya Adeleke Adedoyin, Chief Obafemi Awolaja, Barr. Olayinka Ganiyu Odufuwa, Hon. Rotimi Omotayo, Hon. Bolodeoku, Alhaja Olaide Owonifari, Barr. Leke Solarin, Hon. Omolola Awoniyi, Chief Opaleye Rafiu, Alhaji Sanni Samsudeen, Hon. Fagade, among others.

These engagements remain an important part of my commitment to inclusive leadership, strong grassroots engagement, and sustained development across Ikenne, Sagamu, and Remo North Local Government Areas.

Signed

Member, House of Representatives Ikenne/Sagamu/Remo North Federal Constituency
