The Rural Electrification Agency (REA) of the Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced the first phase of solar street light installation across Ikenne Local Government Area, with work starting today in Iperu.

This intervention is aimed at improving public safety, extending economic activities into evening hours, and providing reliable and sustainable clean energy to the community. It also reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to rural development and improved living standards.

The supervising engineer confirmed that installation is progressing smoothly and assured that, with the arrival of the remaining solar components, the first phase will be completed by Monday, April 20, 2026.

This impactful initiative is facilitated and sponsored by Hon. Dr. Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, Member representing Ikenne, Sagamu and Remo North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Her continued commitment to infrastructural development and the welfare of her constituents is evident in projects that directly improve the lives of the people.
